The International District is a state legislatively created management district which operates an office within the International Trade Center. The district was created to bring public safety, economic development, environmental and urban design and mobility and transportation improvements to an 11.5 square mile area commonly known as Alief. The office is manned by Service Director Brian Burks, who oversees the day to day operations of the district.
